On June 5, 2009, after nearly a year of planning and preparation, the supplies had arrived and we were ready to go. Over the next two days, we bundled everything into manageable, easy-carry packets, and prepared the pick up site for the helicopter’s arrival.
On June 7, 2009, we rented a helicopter, transported over 13,000 pounds of building materials to the build site, and started building that very same day.
I’m still amazed by how much progress we made in that first week. You are an awesome boss, Jerry!
I could write several pages about this week. It was one of the best weeks of my life, and it started me down a new and better path. It was also the start of a new and amazing friendship with Dick and Tim.
